Middle Management Induction Program 2023

RN/M 3: Role Development Program

Purpose

The aim of the MMIND program is to facilitate development of leadership and management skills for RN/M 3’s, and senior RN/M's who relieve the Level 3 role,  leading to development of  increased understanding of the key responsibilities and accountabilities as a leader within the health service.

Aim

On completion of this program you will have increased knowledge and understanding of the Level 3 role, allowing you to further develop your leadership abilities. This will be achieved through an enhanced awareness of role accountabilities, exposure to ideas about effective team building, and opportunity to develop a clear understanding of the structure and operational imperatives that are currently priorities within the SA Health system.  As a MMIND participant you will develop knowledge, skills and attitudes through:

  • Increased awareness of your capacity to impact on clinical care as a result of clinical decision making processes
  • Exposure to building a culture of clinical practice improvement by challenging status quo and implementing clinical practice improvement initiatives
  • Exploring your understanding of leadership skills, and the accountabilities of the leadership role
  • Examining operational imperatives at local and Health Service level

 Program

The program will occur over a series of 5 study days (Fridays):

The program will provide essential elements required to develop the RN3/RM3 role to operate effectively and efficiently within SA Health and will build understanding of the competing demands within the current context.

To successfully complete the MMIND Program, participants must attend all study days, and undertake a practice improvement project relevant to their practice context.
