The Sunrise Clinical Application Functionality page provides further information for clinicians who enter information into the clinical record. 

Clinicians may utilise this course to increase their knowledge beyond familiarisation, as provided in Sunrise Clinical Application Introduction, or for refresher purposes. 

Duration: variable based on user needs.

An introduction to training requirements for the electronic medical record (EMR).

Follow the appropriate learning journey (clinical or administration) link to access further guidance about mandatory courses for each discipline.

An introduction to the ED Status Board and other ED specific functionality

Format: A series of self-directed eLearning lessons using a simulated ED Status Board

Audience: Required for all ED staff, and staff working outside the ED who require access to the ED Status Board.

Duration: variable depending on discipline: approximately 10 - 30 minutes

The EPAS Outpatient Waitlist course provides information on how to use waitlist functionality in the EMR.

Audience: Mandatory for administrative staff working in an outpatient setting

Format: Self-directed eLearning including 5 lessons and an assessment

Duration: approximately 60 minutes

Sunrise Patient Flow course Modules 1 and 2 demonstrate the process for requesting internal patient and equipment movements.

It is recommended training for all clinicians and administrative staff who book internal transport

The course consists of 2 modules and includes assessment activity

Duration: Approximately 30 minutes

There is an additional module for bed managers which will take approx. 20 minutes

An introduction to patient registration and tracking of casenotes through Sunrise Records Manager (SRM).

Audience: Ward clerks and Records Management staff

Format: Self directed eLearning module including several lessons, and 1 assessment

Duration: approximately 60 minutes

Sunrise Responding to Deteriorating Patient Alerts course provides information regarding deteriorating alerts in the EMR, how to respond to them and how to document the patient's treatment.

It is recommended training for all clinicians including those who may be involved in a Medical Emergency Response (MET or Code Blue).

The course consists of a series of videos.

Duration: Approximately 45 minutes

The EPAS Reviewing & Updating Clinical Records course introduces how to navigate the EMR to review a patient's current status and treatment plan as well as how to enter information, orders and notes.

Format: 3 self-directed eLearning modules and 1 assessment

Audience: Clinicians and Read Only staff

Duration: approx. 75 minutes

The EPAS Scheduling course will provide administrative and clinical staff with the knowledge to book and manage outpatient appointments in the EMR.

Audience: This is a mandatory eLearning course for ward clerks, outpatient clerks, allied health clerks and allied health clinicians, and is recommended for specialist outpatient nurses.

Duration: approximately 1 hour
